Who I Am

Antônio Santos, PhD., MSCP

Antonio M Santos is a psychologist, supervisor, psychotherapist, organizational consultant, professor, writer, and international speaker in both the public and private sectors, with over thirty-three years of experience.

He was a semi-professional soccer player for nearly 30 years, and even trained with the renowned professional team, Cruzeiro. Through soccer, he acquired a body of knowledge that he continues to apply in his personal and professional life. He utilizes focus, concentration, and teamwork during psychotherapy sessions with his clients. Furthermore, soccer also influenced his ideas regarding “Magic Moments”—a central aspect of his doctoral thesis.

He has lived in various countries, including Brazil, the United States, and Bermuda; through his exposure to other languages, he came to the conclusion that words represent a deeply profound experience.

“We are all human beings living the earthly experience for a limited time.”

He assists in overcoming psychological, behavioral, and communication-related challenges.

Throughout his career, the therapist has worked in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private practices.

He has collaborated with physicians, nurses, and social workers in emergency settings involving cardiac issues, behavioral medicine conditions (psychosomatic disorders), brain injuries, terminal illnesses, and patients in long-term care facilities.

Over the years spent conducting lectures and workshops across the globe, South America, North America, Europe, Russia, India, China, and Africa, he had the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds. This experience helped him gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of human behavior and the variety of cultural perspectives—insights that have helped his diverse clientele achieve their goals through psychotherapy.

CARL ROGERS, the Father of Psychotherapy, believed that all human beings possess a basic desire for self-actualization. His thinking emphasizes feelings and emotions as the driving force behind personal fulfillment and problem-solving.

PCP Academy

After more than 40 years of practicing psychotherapy, Antonio founded the Academy of Person-Centered Psychotherapy in California, USA, designed for specialists who have chosen this approach for their professional path. Inspired by the ideas and theories of Carl Rogers, the Academy—of which he also serves as Director—offers a space for dialogue, supervision, courses, lectures, and psychotherapy practice. This is facilitated through the exchange of experiences and reflections on clients, conducted both in person and online, with participants from around the world.

IIMPAZ

IIMPAZ is an institute and space established by Antônio in 2013. Dedicated to providing transformative support and facilitating communication across all social classes, the institute offers free courses to underserved communities, fostering the practice of virtues such as transparency, honesty, empathy, kindness, forgiveness, compassion, and more.

It promotes a profound understanding of the nature of love—both within and outside of public, private, and non-profit organizations, as well as schools and businesses—and champions authentic, compassionate leadership.

“We believe that everyone possesses immense inner power—greater than one can possibly imagine—to transform their own personal, professional, and spiritual lives. Our work is conducted with empathy, sincerity, authenticity, and transparency, thereby facilitating the unconditional acceptance of others with compassion—regardless of who they are or what they may have done in their lives.”
